The annual Hollywood event for Chinese and American films-Chinese American Film Festival will be launched in Hollywood, Los Angeles, San Francisco and San Diego again from October 28th to November 25th. Co-sponsored by EDI Media, American Shenhart Entertainment, and supported by Rudy Morgan Organization, Dot Media, World Channel in San Francisco and the Sun Media Investment Holding Group, the Chinese and American Film Festival aims at promoting cultural and art exchange between Chinese and American films and filmmakers, creating opportunities for international cooperation thereby leading the film business internationalized and market-oriented. 43 movies including The Warlords starred by Li Lianjie and Liu Dehua, Snow in Wind starred by Ni Ping, The Gun of Mercy starred by Liu Peiqi and Wu Dawei, the Longest Night in Shanghai starred by Zhao Wei and Masahiro Motoki, My Beloved Has Gone and Nanjing starred by Siqinggaowa will be screened.
The 2008 Chinese American Film Festival has been granted by the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, and also, the festival received congratulatory letters from the governor of California, the Ambassador of PRC in USA and etc. The Culture Consular of the Consulate-General of the PRC in Los Angeles Chen Huaizhi presented at the press conference personally. The opening ceremony was on November 3rd in the Directors Guild of America and the opening ceremony for North California Branch was on November 7th. Sino-US Filmmakers Forum, Fashion Night, CAFF Charity Party, Charity movies week and etc will be held. During the festival, ten more main cinemas in Los Angeles, Hollywood, San Diego and San Francisco including Laemmle, Edward and etc will screen the competing films.
Important officials from Consulate-general of PRC in Los Angeles, Directors Guild of America, Fox Film Corp, Sony Pictures, Disney Pictures and three American major agencies, and hundreds of Chinese and American movie celebrities including the chairman of American Film Market Association, producer of the English Patient and the Oscar winner Michael Ryan; the producer of the Godfather, Million Dollar Baby, and the Hollywood distributor and producer of Superman Omar Kaczmarczk, the Music producer for Kongfu Panda, Erhu artist Han Huaqi; music producer for the Spider Man Paul Ottoson; the Emmy award winner, famous Hollywood music producer Dino Herrmann; the Queen of Baihua Award Zhu Xijuan; and famous fashion designer, president of Yves Castaldi presented as well at the film festival.
